First Year: The entry year

• The Hindi Varnmala/Alphabet recognition and identification
• Writing and reciting all Varnmala letters
• Learning to converse in Hindi
• Learn to speak basic sentences in Hindi
• Learn to write one’s name in Hindi
• Introduction of Hindi everyday sight words
• Learn to read and write two letters, three letters, and four-letter words in Hindi.
• Conversation of Indian culture and major holidays
• Learn a few prayers
• Perform at Hindu Center events with the class

Second Year

• Review first year curriculum
• Learn to read and write three to four letter Hindi words
• Introduction to Matras
• Read and Write words using Matras
• Continue to converse in Hindi
• Start writing simple sentences in Hindi
• Learning to read small paragraphs with simple words

Third Year

• Introduce Sanyukt “Akshers/letters”
• Introduction of Hindi verb letters.
• Reading and writing in Hindi
• Sentence writing
